Hi hi! My name is Katie, though in the art world (as well as in my coven) I go by the name of Vyktoriah. Why Vyktoriah? Well, when I was 17 and going through Catholic confirmation, I had to choose a saint’s name to take. I chose Saint Victoria. But I thought it was boring. So I spruced it up a bit. As I got older, I began studying various evil pagan practices (tongue firmly in cheek there!) and realized that numerologically Vyktoriah actually suits me. Plus, the voices in my head prefer to call me Vyktoriah. Also, Katie.com is already taken, but vyktoriah.com is all mine! Anyway, I was born in 1982, and at the time of this writing, I am 26 years old. That, of course, will change depending on how many years go by before you read this. I am married to a man who was born in 1978. He’s a Virgo to my Aquarius, and we’re dangerously unsuitable for one another, but somehow we’ve been married since 2003. And though I am an American, born and bred, my husband is British as marmite, and I thoughtlessly agreed to move to the UK to make a life with him. What was I thinking?!? Oh yes, he’s kind of hot, so I guess I was willing to emigrate for him. That’s love, people. Hobbies include painting, photography, crafts, reading, writing, blogging and web design. Anything creative makes me happy. Unfortunately, I’m also one of them thar starvin’ arteests. Meaning that no matter how well I do, I still have yet to make money from any of my pursuits. Of course, that could be because I haven’t bothered to try yet. Har har. Those who try to win my affection with warm Dr Pepper, freshly picked corn on the cob, or a new set of Tarot cards would probably get it. Those who are stuck for time, I can also be bought with BPAL Imps Ears of any sort. At some point, I’ll put up a wish list or a quiz or something. Just to keep you all informed, you understand, and not because I’m actually expecting gifts. Though if a gift were to find its way into my pocket, I’m sure I wouldn’t cry too hard. I am proud to be a redneck princess, reared in a small country town in north-western Pennsylvania. That said, I've also lived for several years in California, Texas, Arizona and North Carolina. Several folks have commented on my nomadic spirit, even going so far as to call me a gypsy of the new millennium. This prompted me to create a blog at Millennium-Gypsy.com. Aside from my husband, I also am "mother" to two beautiful cats. Muse is about 4 - 5 years old by now, and we rescued her as a stray off a busy road. Gypsy is 3 years old, and she was given to us off of Freecycle, as her former owners couldn't take care of her any longer. They are both Domestic Short Hair Tabby Cats. One day, we hope to add a third cat and/or a small dog to our little family. Vital information for those who are interested: Favorite Movies - The Crow, Amelie, Moulin Rouge, Cool Hand Luke, To Kill a Mockingbird, Chocolat, and anything by Lasse Haalstrom. Favorite Books - The Secret Life of Bees, To Kill a Mockingbird, Catcher in the Rye, A Tale of Two Cities (which ALWAYS makes me cry), Steppenwolf, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Harry Potter (series), First Fruits, and anything by Philippa Gregory Favorite Music - Tori Amos, Pearl Jam, Loreena McKennitt, Kristin Chenoweth, Joanna Newsome, Regina Spektor, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Nico, The Velvet Underground, and all country music, as well as any musical numbers from Broadway or West End shows.
